THE BEGINNING
Starting was not the hard part. Living with the sense that something more was required was.
After years devoted to family, the question wasn’t ability — it was permission. Not whether the thinking was there, but whether I trusted myself to stay with it. The hesitation was familiar. So was the pull to override it.
What persisted wasn’t urgency or ambition. It was a steady signal — the sense that what had been held too long was asking to move. Negotiation ended. I began.
Not to fix what had happened. To name it accurately.
