SKIN - A TIMELESS WORK OF ART

The season of skin re-emergence is here, and I’m in love with the process! Skin re-emergence is all about creating the vision behind what you want your skin to look like. It’s like painting and mix-matching colors — different masks, serums, and creams — that bring your skin to life and allow light to shine through. There’s really an art to taking care of your skin, and when tapped into, it can bring a revival of self-confidence and empower discovery.

Perhaps our skin wasn’t a top property during quarantine. With rapid changes in lifestyle and compounding stress from these past few years, there’s been a certain amount of weight that’s burdened our skin, waning our energy and speeding up the process of aging. Many of us have neglected to take care of ourselves, which has opened up the door for health issues to creep in. It’s during trying circumstances like these that we ought to embrace the inside-outside skincare approach, gaining a deeper awareness of what we need to fuel ourselves with good things.

The reality is, there’s so much we can learn about the skin and about how to properly care for it. Natura Bisse says it best: Our skin has “its own expression, its own voice.” Our skin needs love, vitality, and connection — it needs rituals and routines that ground ourselves in beauty and in honoring our bodies. These little acts of self-care hold everything together and have made a big impact in my own life. My personal beauty routines are the one time I really have to myself — I love the ability to pour into my skin and tangibly take care of my needs, which is something I have a harder time doing in other areas of life. My passion for skin is something that I want to emphasize and expand on during this next year. It’s easy to feel weighed down in all sorts of skincare offerings and products, feeling frozen at where to even start. That’s something I’d like to help you with, though, in energizing the skin and helping transform it from dull to Glow-y.

Your skin is your armor, and it's something that's going to be with you forever. It shows all the battles, and it's the first thing in the body’s line of defense. So I think changing the way we see it would be a cool thing to do.
